Karpathos
One of my favorite islands for travel photography or capturing events is Karpathos.
Situated in the southern part of the Aegean Sea between Rhodes and Crete, Karpathos has a rather secluded location. Thanks to its position, Karpathos has yet to be discovered by mass visitors, thus it boasts an unspoiled landscape! The southern side of the island is touristically developed, while the southern side keeps its raw natural charm.
The natural beauty of this island in Greece is indescribable! Karpathos beaches stand out for their exotic ambiance and crystal clear waters, while picturesque villages, such as Olympos, Menetes, and Othos keep the tradition of Kalymnos alive. Thanks to its unique geology, it is also one of the best destinations for trekking.
It is a beautiful island located on the southern side of the Aegean Sea, between Rhodes and Crete. Boasting unique geology and natural beauty, this island is a remote paradise, ideal for those who want to unwind away from the hustle and the bustle.
Beaches
The island stands out for one thing in particular: its stunning beaches! Kyra Panagia and Apella are the most beautiful and popular beaches on this amazing island. If you’re into water sports, then go to the southern coasts of Karpathos, which are ideal for windsurfing!
Villages
The island is dotted with quaint little villages, which ooze a traditional charm! The most beautiful village of Karpathos is arguably Olympos, a picturesque mountainous village. This village is the perfect place to peek into the island’s tradition: every house has its windmill and church, while women wear traditional costumes in their everyday life!
Day trip
One of the best things to do is to do a quick trip to the remote Saria island. This island may be uninhabited, but it boasts some amazing beaches and sites.
